This page lists the holders of the office of Prime Minister of Egypt. The office was created when Egypt's Council of Ministers was established in August 1878, after Khedive Isma'il Pasha agreed to turn his powers over to a cabinet modeled after those of Europe. Nubar Pasha was thus Egypt's first Prime Minister in the modern sense. Prior to that, Egypt had traditional Muslim-style viziers. Kamal Ganzouri, in office since 7 December 2011, is the current Prime Minister of Egypt.
